Personal: Wedding Anniversary | Humphreys Half Moon Inn & Suites, CA

A letter to my husband on our anniversary! If you don’t like cheese, just scroll down to the pictures ;)

Happy 3  year anniversary Trent! Who knew when I met you 11 years ago you would not only become my best friend, but my husband. Thank you for not only being my first love, but my last. Through our experiences in high school, college, and engagement, I can truly say these last three years have trumped them all.

Thank you for loving me and others so selflessly. It’s a rarity in todays society, but you possess the gift of selflessness. I know I can wake up at 3am and deliriously say that I’m thirsty and you’ll hop out of bed and bring me a cup of ice of water. When a friend is moving, you’re the first to volunteer your time to get them in and out of their house. I always appreciate that after a long wedding day, you will grab a wet cloth, wash my feet, and give me a massage. I’m so thankful that you always find time to hear about my day, listen to my stories, and take time to sit and talk with me. I love your servants heart and ability to give. If you could, you would live your life in hand-me-downs, beat up shoes, and velcro watches so that you could give your money to other people. You put everyone before yourself and I love watching how you bless others.

Thank you for being strong in your convictions. The world is consistently changing, but I can always count on the fact that your passion for your faith and your love for God will remain the same. Thank you for always tithing. No matter how well you do in work or those months where we are waiting on a paycheck, I know you will always give our money to God before anything else. Thank you for encouraging me in our devotions and for praying with me before every meal and when we fall asleep. Thank you for making Wednesday my favorite day of the week. When we first got married, you told me you felt called to start up a Bible study. I was hesitant, but you were firm in your decision and in over two years our Wednesday Night Bible Study grew from a few people to over fifty people. Thank you for prepping throughout week, for buying dinner each week for all our friends, and for leading the main message. We have watched our closest friends give their heart to God, get baptized, become leaders, and make changes in this world on their mission trips and in their daily life. Thank you for being a Christian leader, for holding my hand and bringing me to church, and constantly praising God through trials and triumphs. You make a conscious effort to seek God in all that you do and that is what I will always love about you most!

Thank you for bringing adventure into my life. When we were fifteen I told you my dream was to get married in a hot air ballon and six years later you made that dream come true. Thank you for living in a car for five days the day we got back from our honeymoon. Thank you for winning that car so we no longer had to share a car. Thank you for holding my hand when we cliff jump, I loved when we zip lined in the tropics and the Swiss Alps, and I enjoy that you’re always the first to try everything to make sure that it’s safe. Most of all, thank you for putting stamps in my passport. You have helped me check off so many things from my bucket list when it comes to travel. Thank you for being the best companion as we traveled around Mexico, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, and all over the United States. Thank you for taking me to see some of God’s greatest creations. The sunsets in Thailand, the sunrises in Belize, riding an elephant, feeding wild monkeys, and swimming in a variety of vast oceans. You make life so much fun!

I could go on forever, but I’ll spare the novel. Most of all, thank you for being my best friend. The first person I want to laugh with, cry with, and share any experience with. Thank you for hugging me when we don’t have any words to exchange, for loving me when I roll my eyes, for dancing with me to all my favorite songs, and for communicating with me across the room with our eyes when we can’t say things out loud. I love how you love our families, how you care for our friends, and how you treat me as your wife. I will always wonder what I did to receive you as my husband, but I’ll always be thanking God for letting me marry up! I love you!

My best friend, maid of honor, and sister… all wrapped in one!

First look!

My mom made that seashell bouquet!

How pretty are my friends? Inside and out!

Our maid of honor and best man.

One of my favorite pictures!

I loved all the beachy details.

A surprise ceremony entrance! You can view it below!

Hey Trent, did we lose our teeth?

Our officiant, marriage counselor, and friend, Tim!

If you know me at all, you know I have an obsession for teal!

The cake sat on brown sugar. You could eat that sand!

We picked our song when we were fourteen years old. I loved that it played for our first dance!
Stay With Me by Josh Gracin.

Another surprise. An outfit change and a choreographed dance to get the party started.
I still can’t believe this has over a million views on YouTube!

Cake smash! I dreamed of this moment! ;)

This pictures makes me laugh out loud to this day. Check out that jump!

The tied his wrists with his tie, haha!

Love these two!

No one left the dance floor the entire night! This day was everything I wanted and more!

Sweaty messes!

A few favorite moments of life after we said, “I do.”
