Who doesn’t love this time of year? Every day seems so festive and there are so many occasions that bring together the best trio– family, friends, and food! When October hits I love watching the differences in the transitions of the last three months of the year. I enjoy the spookiness of October, the changing of leaves in November, and the sound of Christmas music everywhere I go in December. I especially love when Thanksgiving comes and all my friends come home to enjoy their week off school. I love making new friends, but there is something about the foundation of old friends that makes me so happy. You can go months without seeing one another, but once you get together it is like you haven’t been separated for a day. This year for Thanksgiving I enjoyed the day with my family watching football, eating until I wanted to burst, and having a family game night. Game night with my family is no joke… we always try not to get too serious, but we always seem to fail and the games usually end because someone is getting overly competitive. Anytime anyone but ourselves win we think the other cheated. However, we had a calmer game night on Thanksgiving… I guess we go easy on one another for the holidays. The next day I was going to attempt to go Black Friday shopping, but I was still in a food coma and could not get myself to wake up and fight the crowds. However, I did manage to be productive later in the afternoon and I met up with some of my favorite people and we worked out our turkey bellies on a beautiful hike in Torrey Pines. Throughout the whole hike you just couldn’t help but say, “Gotta love San Diego”… Who else gets to go on hikes right along the beach in mid 70 degree weather toward the end of November? We are a lucky bunch! I’m so thankful for my amazing family and friends. Couldn’t imagine the holidays without them.
I love this picture!
I have so much to be thankful for, but being able to pray freely in my home with my family is one of the greatest blessings.
I put my camera out of sight and on timer without my family knowing and when we gathered for dinner I hit the button and captured this great shot.
At the end of the day it is the candids that always make the greatest picture.
