San Diego Mud Run: Life Session | El Cajon, CA | Analisa Joy Photography

“Aahh you’re amazing, Analisa!!” – Erica

Who doesn’t love splashing around in the mud? Every year Deven Schneider from Schneider Grading & Excavating, designs the course for the San Diego Mud Run and every year he outdoes himself. Deven’s wife Erica from Acres of Hope Photography, usually photographs this event, but since she was booked that day she asked if I could fill in. I have never been to a mud run, but I hear about them all the time and I was excited to finally be apart of one. Deven wanted shots of the course for his portfolio and then he wanted a few shots of the race itself. After working with both Deven and Erica, I have quickly realized that they both have a heart of gold. They are living a life that glorifies God, they are great role models for married couples, and within their busy schedules they find time to reach out and help others. It is Deven’s dream to host a race for those with disabilities and this year he wanted to show that everyone has the opportunity to be apart of the mud run. Deven brought his two friends, Riley and Shane (who are also known as Team Pathman) to be apart of this year’s mud enduring race. Shane and Riley were both born with Cerebral Palsy, but that does not stop them from experiencing life to the fullest. They are active like most boys and they love the beautiful outdoors… They play sports, swim, bike, run, and they even participate in triathlons. They are inspiring examples to those with physical challenges by displaying that they can still live an active life with endless opportunities. Through tunnels, steep stairs, and slippery mud, Deven and his friends carried and ran alongside Shane and Riley who were nothing but smiles throughout the entire race. I can’t wait to see how God uses these boys to encourage and bring hope to others. I know it is Wednesday and most of us are eager for the weekend, but within our chaotic schedules we need to make time to be thankful for life and for the blessings that surround it. Take a moment to be still and listen to what God has in store for you. He wants to work miracles through your life and if you allow Him, you will have the ability to inspire and touch others.
