Personal: Day at the Lake | Santee Lakes, CA | Analisa Joy Photography | San Diego, CA Photographer

I know I am obsessed with my dog Posey, but I don’t know how to cure myself… she’s the cutest! My dog is a super genius and learns a new trick in a snap. She knows almost 20 tricks these days and I’m ready to sign her up for Sea World’s latest show, Pets Rule. Well, she’s not that good, but we are working up to it! Trent and I don’t have normal schedules where we have the weekends off so we enjoy our days off on Wednesdays. It has turned into my favorite day of the week. Last Wednesday, we headed down to Santee Lakes to soak up the sun and teach Posey how to swim. I think we traumatized her rather than teach her, but she did pretty good doggy paddling in the freezing water. Trent planned the entire day and brought along a picnic lunch, duck feed, and we were going to go on the paddle boats but they don’t allow dogs. Obviously, we couldn’t leave the Pose behind so we just laid in the grass and enjoyed some rest and relaxation.

The best part of this day was the secrecy that lied behind it. Every Wednesday, Trent and I host a Bible study at our house and even with his crazy schedule he makes sure to put time aside for a few days so that he can plan a lesson. Trent insists on feeding our friends and he asks nothing in return. Our Bible study started off with about 4 people and it has grown to almost 15 people a week. Our friends wanted to surprise Trent for all the hard work he puts into it so they all came up with an excuse of why they couldn’t come to our Bible study this week. While we were out my sister snuck into our house along with our friends and they provided a pot luck feast! Trent was so surprised when 12 people popped out from our hallway with a giant card and arms full of food. We are so blessed to have such amazing people in our life!
