“Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.”

Personal: 5 Chicks and 1 Dude | Sedona, AZ | Analisa Joy Photography | San Diego, CA Photographer

Every year, we travel up to Sedona Arizona to explore the great outdoors. This was a much needed trip because July worked me to the core. There were only four days within the entire month that I was not shooting. I was excited to get away to a place with limited cell phone service and no wifi. In high school, I was always tagging along with Trent and his guy friends. I was considered, “one of the guys” on our river trips, snowboarding trips, and camping trips. I was usually the only girl because they were either single, playing the field, or they were not “serious” enough with their girlfriends  to bring them along. Typical high school boy logic. Don’t get me wrong, Trent has been blessed with the greatest friends, but over the years I had to develop some thick skin to hang out with them all. I endured rushed mornings because none of the boys needed that extra time to get ready and put on makeup. I had to watch endless hours wrestling and I listened to sports talk all day long. I don’t consider myself athletic and they made sure to stick me in every sport known to man. I also had to smell scents that no human should ever have to smell. All I can say is that I have paid my dues and this year Trent finally had to pay his. Usually, Trent has wingman by his side when we do group trips, but this year he was stuck with five women. His weekend was filled with talks about the Real Housewives of OC reunion, the Bachelorette reunion, Juan Pablo, babies, puppies, celebrity gossip, and all the things that women love to gab about. Through it all, Trent was the best sport and had little room to complain because we also managed to fill our days with constant activities. We spent out days hiking, swimming, mini golfing, eating, and sliding on the rocks in Oak Creek. My favorite part of Sedona is being able to see God’s creation in all its glory on our hikes. We hiked Devils Ridge and I felt like we were on top of the world. It was so quiet and we had the most beautiful panoramic view of Sedona. I am counting down the days until we get to go back. Until next year Sedona!

Chelsea was in love with her toe shoes. She should be sponsored because by the end of the trip we were all looking to buy our own pair.

We loved the beautiful red rocks. They kept us cool when we needed a hiking break from the hot sun.

My sister is so beautiful. I love this shot of her!

5 miles uphill to Devil’s Ridge. Worth every step and climb!

I was particularly fond of our jeep tour guide named Bruno. He was awesome!

I still can’t believe I got close enough to grab this shot. This was my worst nightmare!

Oak Creek is always our go-to place on our Sedona trips. We packed lunches and blankets and picnicked along the creek.
Some of us took naps, others slid down the mossy rocks, and all of us practically face planted while trying walk across the freezing water.
