“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

Lately, I have seen amazing people all around me give with cheerful hearts and I think it is time to reward them. At the beginning of every month, I am going to give away a free photo session based on nominations that others receive from their family and/or friends. Throughout the month, please email me at analisa@analisa-joy.com with the subject line, “Joyful Giver” or write on my Facebook page and express who you think deserves a free photo session and why (you cannot nominate yourself). The more details the better! It could be for anything– good grades, a single mom, son leaving for the military, being a great sister, surviving a sickness, an awesome teacher, a loyal friend, volunteering, being a faithful companion, etc. This is not a popularity contest. The winner will be chosen based on what touches my heart every month. I am looking forward to seeing who you all nominate. It’s time to celebrate the people who touch our lives. Let’s reward those who give back with joyful hearts.

The first Joyful Giver winner is Chelsea Petix. She was nominated by me! She doesn’t even know about this post, but I am excited for her to read it. Chelsea is one of my best friends whose heart is dipped in gold. Chelsea and I are practically attached at the hip and she has been a huge blessing in my life. She is a loyal friend, an amazing assistant, and the definition of a giver. Chelsea is highly complimented for her long hair and she recently chopped off 11 inches and donated her hair to “Locks of Love.” When people asked why she replied, “because God blessed me with beautiful hair. It only makes since to give it back to those who need it.” Chelsea has a heart for people, a heart for animals, and a heart for life. She is going to school to be a nurse and on the side she loves to pursue photography. Since 2011 we have done handfuls of mentor sessions where I have taught her the in’s and out’s of starting a photography business. I am learning new things everyday and it has been fun having someone to share that with. Many of you may recognize Chelsea from your lifestyle sessions. She is the tiny little woman who is always holding my large reflector or she’s second shooting and laying face down in the dirt to capture the tiniest of details. I am excited to announce that Chelsea has been promoted to my main wedding assistant. She continues to exceed my expectations with her keen eye for detail and optimistic attitude. She’s been my right hand lady at many of my 2013 weddings and I am always impressed by the different angles and perspectives that she is able to capture. I’m looking forward to this years busy wedding season and I am thankful to have Chelsea along for the ride!
