I always get extra excited when I receive an email or text from Kenna saying that they are ready for another photo session. As a photographer, you always feel honored when a couple/family keeps returning to you for more shoots. I photographed Chase and Kenna’s engagement, wedding, maternity, and now their first family session. I was so happy to finally meet their sweet girl Karielle who was an angel throughout the entire afternoon. It’s hard to keep the attention of little ones for an hour to two hours and she was the happiest baby getting her picture taken. Poway Park is one of my favorite and least favorite locations to shoot at. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It’s the cutest park and I love the endless possibilities, but it is also extremely crowded. The day prior to this session, I was at Poway Park and I counted over 19 sessions taking place. The endless possibilities became very limited because the park was overcrowded with large families receiving their portraits. However, we lucked out on this day because it was supposed to rain. We decided to risk the weather and we were in luck. We didn’t feel a sprinkle and we even had moments of pure sun. For the first time EVER, I had the entire park to myself. On this day, it became my favorite location again. I loved that we didn’t need to fight the crowds or worry about people being in the background. It was as stress free day and I’m thankful it happened to Chase and Kenna because they will always be one of my all time favorite clients.
